[openrtm-users 01248] Re: Howto install RT System Editor under Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo)

Hello,

While on this subject I thought I'd chip in as well.

I'm currently using Gallileo on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and alternate with
the Sun Java binaries and OpenJDK.
I use the default packages for Ubuntu to install Eclipse and made some
interesting observations.
The only combination that worked for me was to install EMF and GEF
using the "Help" menu and then copying the OpenRTM files to
~/.eclipse/plugins which is the directory eclipse uses to store user
installed packages. The first boot seems to require the -clean option.
I used the newest EMF, GEF packages from eclipse and the daily build
package of OpenRTM.

Copying the EMF, GEF and OpenRTM jar files to ~/.eclipse/plugins does
not work. Similar to your case, I was not able to get the OpenRTM
related perspectives to appear. Copying the jar files to
/usr/share/eclipse/plugins did not work either.

Hope this helps someone.

Hajime

PS. Hmm. This *is* an old thread.
