The sendingTiming attribute of the Preceding type is simply specified as being a string. The description for this type indicates that it can take one of two values (equivalent to "before" and "after"), but this is not formally specified. The YAML example uses the value "SYNC" for one of the options, but does not specify which option this corresponds to. It also does not indicate what the alternative is.
The allowable values for this type must be formally specified.
